Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Mills, helped to welcome first year students at Huazhong Agricultural University during a visit to Harper Adams’ partner universities in China.
Professor Mills toured both Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) and Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University in Yangling during his visit.
Harper Adams hosts a summer school for engineering students from Northwest A&FU, and as an academic partner, was invited to celebrate its 80th anniversary. Professor Mills attended a formal ceremony as well as the International Forum on Development Strategies for Ecological Issues in Western China.
Following his visit to Northwest A&FU, Professor Mills travelled to HZAU in Wuhan to discuss future research collaborations and to welcome first year students starting their studies on the joint HZAU/Harper Adams degree course.
Professor Mills said: “During my visit, students had taken a break from their military training to engage in a question and answer session about life at Harper Adams.
“We look forward to welcoming them to the university in September 2016.”
The four-year undergraduate degree course run in conjunction with HZAU sees students join Harper Adams for the final two years of their course.
