Harper Adams University develops Indonesian links through visit

Director of Learning and Teaching/International, Andy Jones, has spent a week in Indonesia to help develop strong links with Indonesian universities in research collaborations, student and staff exchanges and student recruitment. 

Andy Jones said: “I spent a week in Indonesia, where I presented Harper Adams study and research opportunities at nine universities in five major cities.

“My visit built on previous visits and study tours by Dr Tom Pope, Dr Lynn McIntyre, Professor Peter Mills and Dr Tomas Norton which have taken place over the past twelve months. 

“Indonesia is a highly populated country with a few thousand universities, many of which have large facilities or schools of agriculture.

“We have already established partnership agreements with several major institutions, including Brawijaya University in Malang which has 60,000 students, 6,500 of whom are studying agricultural-related degrees. 

“In the photograph, I am with staff and students from University of Hasanuddin (UNHAS), in Makassar, which is where Professor Keith Walters is planning a research collaboration to investigate Potato Virus Y early warning systems in individual fields.”
