Over the past ten months we have been strengthening and re-developing our relationship through several reciprocal visits of staff and students."
Links with one of Harper Adams’ Erasmus partners, Hogeschool of Applied Sciences (HAS) in Den Bosch, Netherlands, have been strengthened after four days of visits by students and staff from the Dutch university.
Director of Learning and Teaching/International Andy Jones said: “HAS specialises in undergraduate courses related to our own and has strong interests in our university as a master’s progression destination for their students and as an exchange partner.
“Over the past ten months we have been strengthening and re-developing our relationship through several reciprocal visits of staff and students.
“For this event, we welcomed two groups of second year students from the university.
“On the Tuesday, 25 students and staff from their Animal Welfare and Husbandry courses visited for the day and were given tours of our facilities and talks by Mitch Crook, Carwyn Ellis, Rebekah Gerard, Helen Morrell, Simon Marsh, Victoria Talbot and Kathryn Greaves.
“This group was followed by a three day study visit, which involved 80 students and staff from their Agri-Business courses.
“They toured the Harper Adams estate, attended lecturers, visited local businesses, as well as taking part in joint presentations with our business students and a hog roast on the Wednesday evening along with fun and games with our own students.
“The HAS visitors were very impressed by our facilities, students and staff and we hope that some of these second year students will apple for MSc courses here in the future and that some of our students will spend time at HAS through the Erasmus programme.
“Currently, there are up to ten HAS final year students applying for full time MSc courses here as a result of our recent work and visits.
“I would like to thank Harper Adams staff who organised the three day programme, delivered lecturers and generously gave their time to make the visits such a success.”
