Graduation 2016: Tom Hasley Award – Hugh Cabbell Manners

Hugh Cabbell Manners, 23, from Cromer, Norfolk, has been awarded the Tom Hasley Award.

This award is presented to the final year rural property management student who has made the learning experience more enjoyable for other students throughout their time at Harper Adams.

Sue Ragbourne, senior lecturer, said: “Hugh graduates with a BSc (Hons) Rural Property Management degree. 

“He is receiving this prize for enhancing the experience of others on his course. 

“To give an example, in true Top Gear-style Hugh organised a road trip across Europe in old cars, with other RPM students, to celebrate finishing their final exams. 

“Hugh has also added colour to many tutorials with questions exploring the practical implications of law, tax and planning for the zoo on his family estate. 

“For his dissertation, Hugh explored whether the credit crunch had affected tourism in Norfolk.”

Sue Ragbourne presented the prize.
