"Being selected by Acorus for this prize was a fantastic confidence boost in the lead up to my exams"
Acorus Rural Property Services have once again sponsored a prize for second year students at Harper Adams studying Rural Planning.
Emma Pierce-Jenkins, Senior Lecturer in Environmental and Rural Planning, welcomed Acorus’s continued support for this assignment, which requires students to apply learning to a real scenario. They had to attend a planning committee meeting and investigate a planning application of their choice determined at that meeting.
The prize has been awarded to Jack Barraclough, whose work was chosen by Anthony Atkinson, Rural Planning Director at Acorus, from more than 90 assignments because “it was the most complete with a good overview of the selected application and the planning procedure”.
Jack, who is nearing the end of his second year of the BSc (Hons) Countryside Management degree, said: “Being selected by Acorus for this prize was a fantastic confidence boost in the lead up to my exams. I'm planning on using the prize money to enrol for some training courses through the British Deer Society to help further my career aspirations.”
The prize was presented to Jack by Simon Irvin, countryside course manager, who added his thanks to Anthony Atkinson and Acorus for their sponsorship of the prize.
