Harper Adams University is delighted to announce that the industry partner for the Rabobank Scholarship 2018 is world-leading bovine genetics company, Genus ABS.

Managing Director of Rabobank UK Global Corporate Clients, James Cass, said: “Supporting a new generation of talented individuals to enter the agri-food sector is a vital cornerstone of ensuring long term food security for the world’s ever growing population.

“As part of Rabobank’s ‘Growing a better World Together’ mission, we partner with organisations who share this vision which is why we are proud to work alongside Harper Adams University and Genus to offer this scholarship.”

“Rabobank has worked closely with Genus for many years and we are excited to develop our relationship further with them. They are an industry leading, forward thinking organisation, dedicated to innovation and constantly thriving for the best for their customers.”

First year students going into their second year in 2018/19 are invited to apply for the Rabobank Scholarship – the highest value award offered by the University’s Development Trust.  The successful recipient will receive funding provided by Rabobank valued at £18,000 over two academic years and a one year paid work placement with Genus.

Regional Director of Genus for Europe, the Middle East & Africa, Andrew Thompson said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Harper Adams University and Rabobank. We see this investment into the next generation of potential agricultural students as crucial for the sustainability of UK & Global Agriculture.”

The scholarship opportunity is ideal for anyone looking to develop a career with a world leading bovine genetics company dedicated to innovation. During their placement year the scholar will gain experience in a variety of areas, including sales, service roles, group presenting and marketing, as well as some opportunities to represent the company at technical events.

Harper Adams University Secretary Dr Catherine Baxter said: “The University is delighted that Rabobank, Genus and the University will be working together over the next three years to offer exciting scholarship and placement opportunities to our students.”

“The University’s partnership with Rabobank remains extremely successful. The University regards its work with partners as key to its mission and recognises the value that such relationships add to the student experience including career development and high quality industry placements.”
