    Posted 21 September 2018

"We are thrilled to have achieved the highest ranking for a Modern University in this year’s Good University Guide. With a second Gold award in the Teaching Excellence Framework this year, and students and staff who make a huge contribution to the industries with which we work, this has been another remarkable year for Harper Adams"

Harper Adams University has once again achieved the position of the highest ranked modern university in the UK, in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019.

Harper Adams was the highest ranked post-92 university in the 2018 guide and selected as Modern University of the Year in the 2017 guide.

The new guide also reveals that Harper is now the third highest ranked university in the West Midlands, while holding its position from last year as the 33rd best university in the overall table.

The new edition of The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019, containing profiles of 132 universities, will be published this weekend in The Sunday Times (September 23).

A fully searchable website with university profiles and 67 subject tables will be published at thesundaytimes.co.uk/gooduniversityguide on Sunday (accessible to subscribers to The Times and The Sunday Times)

Previewing the guide today, The Sunday Times stated: “Harper Adams University is ranked 33rd= overall and enjoys its second year as the highest-placed post-1992 university (this year jointly with the University of the Creative Arts). It also holds a gold award in the Teaching Excellence Framework and continues to produce stellar results for student satisfaction, both in relation to teaching quality and the broader student experience.

“Harper Adams has been upgrading its teaching and research facilities and is one of a small number of locations where the government is funding centres for innovation as part of its national strategy for agricultural technologies.”

Commenting on the announcement, Vice-Chancellor, Dr David Llewellyn said: “We are thrilled to have achieved the highest ranking for a Modern University in this year’s Good University Guide. With a second Gold award in the Teaching Excellence Framework this year, and students and staff who make a huge contribution to the industries with which we work, this has been another remarkable year for Harper Adams. We are holding our Graduation Ceremonies today, so this is a great start to the celebration of the success of our students as they begin their new careers.”

The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019 league table is made up of nine indicators including student satisfaction with teaching quality and their wider student experience, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates.
