It’s Thursday of National Careers Week –and also World Engineering Day, so let's talk engineering.
At Harper Adams, we’re perhaps best known for our agricultural engineering courses, which attract students from not just throughout the UK and Ireland, but across the globe.
Harper is at the leading edge of agricultural technology – it is home to the National Centre for Precision Farming, the Agri-EPI Centre Midlands Agritech Hub and Smart Dairy, and the world first Hands-Free Hectare project, now expanded out to the Hands Free Farm.
We have links to agricultural machinery companies throughout the world including the big tractor manufacturers.
Through our networks, students have direct access to real world briefs, developing much needed solutions for the global farming industry, from improving traditional arable implements through to embracing satellite technology to manage platoons of farming robots.
What might start as an interest in cars, tractors, 4x4s, rallying, go-carts or even lawnmower racing, could be your “spark” to ignite a career as an industry-accredited professional engineer.
Our graduates have progressed into roles with companies including CLAAS, John Deere, Bentley, JCB, Jaguar LandRover, Rail-Ability, Vauxhall, M-Sport, GKN, Caterpillar, BAE Systems, Mercedes Benz, Terex, AGCO, Muller, McLaren and many more!
Why choose Engineering at Harper?
Aside from our obvious specialisms, what makes Harper Adams Engineering degrees stand out is our individualised approach to developing well-rounded professionals. You will learn from a range of highly skilled tutors and through real-world projects and a full year working in the industry on placement, not only how to develop solutions, but also how to pitch them to management and see projects through to successful implementation – making you the ideal day-one job-ready engineering candidate so many companies need!
