THE FINAL arrangements are now in place for the national Food Chain Conference on 'Quality, Safety and the Future' that takes place at Harper Adams University College, Shropshire, next week.
Around 100 delegates are expected to attend the Food Chain Conference, which will take place between 10am and 4.45pm on Tuesday, April 9. A minute's silence will be observed during the conference opening as a mark of respect for the Queen Mother.
Two last minute changes to the conference programme mean that Professor Mac Johnson, Professor of Veterinary Public Health and Head of Animal and Public Health Division at the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, will now speak about the role of the farm as the first part of the food chain.
In addition, Deirdre Hutton, Chair of the National Consumer Council and a member of the group who worked to prepare the Curry Report, will now deliver the keynote speech.
