Scholarship opportunities & careers in the Pig & Poultry sectors

The Weston Lecture Theatre was packed today with students keen to find out more about career opportunities in the Pig and Poultry industries from Lizzie Wilson of the National Pig Association and Christian White of Avara Foods, representing the British Poultry Council.  

September 2018 Harper Adams graduate and BPC scholar James Laarveld, who is from a dairy background, talked about his placement experience in the poultry industry, leading to his current graduate role managing a turkey farm in North Yorkshire.  Pig Industry scholar Oliver Ashton, now in his final year, shared his recent experience on placement.  He was joined by other BPC & Pig Industry Scholars who have just returned to Harper Adams.  

Students looking for a placement next year heard about the high demand for young, enthusastic people in these progressive industries and the fantastic opportunities available to them.  They can find out more at the Scholarship Fair on Thursday 25th October, when they can talk with representatives of all the companies offering scholarships with placements via the British Poultry Council and Pig Industry Scholarship Schemes.
