Pathway Farming offers scholarship with placement

We are delighted to announce that Pathway Farming, founded by Harper Adams alumni Michelle Waterman and Jonty Hay, is offering a scholarship of £3,000 payable to the successful scholar in the current academic year, with a paid work placement, to include accommodation in their placement year. 

Michelle said: 

"Pathway Farming is a new company supplying beef to British retailers via a truly integrated supply chain.  Our combined previous expertise in the poultry, processing and retail sectors has helped us develop this exciting new business.  As ex Harper students ourselves, we are keen to support and nurture talented students who might want to join our business in the future.  We see industrial placements and this scholarship, as a great way of sharing experience, and bringing new talent into the company.

Rearing calves, in our state-of-the-art facilities, is at the heart of this business, and the role will be based on one of our farms in Yorkshire, with experience of all aspects of the business available during the placement year.  We want to find individuals with the potential to take on management roles in the future, and will offer you wide experience and training during your year.  We have tried to embrace technology in our facilities, wherever possible, from modern milk machines, to fully climate controlled housing for the early stages.  We believe technology should enhance exceptional stock-manship skills, not replace them, and are looking for individuals with a similar ethos to join our newly formed team.”
