7 November 2017
Fantastic opportunity with this 1200 sow breed to finish unit on a 1200 acre arable farm business in North Yorkshire. Following investment of over £3million in high tech buildings and equipment over the two main farms, the operation is a mixture of traditional and state of the art with extensive use of computers for recording, feeding and ventilation.
You will gain experience in all areas of their farming business, from harvest and cultivations in the summer to all aspects of pig farming in dry sows, farrowing and the growing and finishing departments. You will gain a full insight into how a successful and growing farm operates first hand, and get experience of all the tasks required to run a pig business.
Pictured below is Samantha Bowser, Skills Development Officer with AHDB Pork talking to students about opportunities with the Pig Industry Scholarship Scheme.
