The Development Trust welcomed Richard Griffiths, CEO of the BPC to the University to review the British Poultry Council (BPC) scholarship scheme ready for launch in October 2018. Members of the BPC offer scholarships with a paid placement year to students who are considering a career in the agriculture and food production sectors. They offer a significant contribution towards tuition fees valued at £4,500, with the potential to extend funding to the final year.

In the academic year 2017/18 a total of £117,000 has been awarded to Harper Adams students via the BPC Scholarship scheme.

Laboratory Manager Victoria Talbot gave Richard a tour of the Elizabeth Creak laboratory building, which houses specialist laboratories for anatomy, microbiology research, and applied science teaching, a prep room, and offices for teaching and technical staff.

Richard said: “the BPC has had a wonderful relationship with Harper Adams, taking scholars for almost a decade. It has been great to see some of the facilities that have been invested in for the future of food and farming in this country”
